A Photographic Guide to the Birds of Japan and North-East Asia

The Japanese archipelago and adjacent areas on 'mainland' (continental) Asia offer many fantastic birding opportunities and have become an increasingly popular destination for European, Australian and North American birders. There are several excellent photo-based field guides in Japanese on the market but this is the best in English. The images - a massive number by the author Tadao Shimba - are of high quality but are sometimes reproduced a little too small in this handy-sized guide. The text contains most of the key information but again feels overly compressed. How about a large-format edition for home use?
